A core member of Satellite Collective since 2018, Stoddard creates dynamic, multimedia stage productions by collaborating closely with leading theater-makers, choreographers and musicians. He made his professional directing debut with Satellite Collective’s world-premiere production of Echo & Narcissus at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Since 2020, Philip has served as the Director of Fellowships & ORBIT fiscal sponsorship programs. He designed the partnership with RangeWater Real Estate in Atlanta, Georgia, which brings the Satellite professional development program to artists-in-residence all over the country, a new model that was awarded the “IREM Innovator of the Year” in 2022.

Satellite Fellows

Satellite Collective believes in artists collaborating as equals, globally and virtually. We incubate performances, arts exchanges, and publications that allow artists to work together because we believe that is the future. We grow artists.

Satellite believes that the current commercial marketplace is exploiting young artists’ need for fiscal sponsorship, and in the process monetizing what should be knowledge shared amongst artists to grow their business viability and enable full careers. To that end, Satellite has launched a hands-on, uniquely-tailored fellowship for artists who show career promise, an ability to raise money to fund their projects, and a willingness to work in collaborative environments. Currently, we are represented in dance, world music, film, theater, interdisciplinary performance, visual and literary arts, opera, science and technology.

The inaugural cohort of Fellows was announced in April 2020.  A subsequent cohort has been introduced each spring since.
